My self-summary
I'm a writer. I really like Jameson Irish Whiskey, but I don't really drink much anymore. I love coffee and coffee shops and have a love/hate relationship with Mountain Dew. I love riding my 10 speed bike and being out in the sun, which Milwaukee really doesn't get enough of. I think Omaha should be a little bit better for that. Won't hold a candle to when I lived in Austin, TX, but, hey, what can you do?

I never want to grow up completely. I'm responsible enough to pay the bills and take care of whatever I need to...but I don't want to lose the immaturity and joy of being young. I never want to stop reading comic books, playing video games, watching stupid teen movies and tv shows, and making crude jokes.

I live a pretty simple life in the sense that I don't own a lot of things and I don't particularly want to. I used to have piles of stuff but I sold most of it off. I'm still a sucker for vinyl records, though...

I am facetious, ambivalent, and logical
What I’m doing with my life
Writing, playing guitar, and bartending. Going back to college at UNO. Otherwise, trying to have a good time while still doing right by people.
I’m really good at
Hating this part of my profile. It just feels like an invitation to be pretentious or overly boastful.
The first things people usually notice about me
Anymore I suppose you'd have to ask them. Yeah, I know that sounds like a lame cop-out. All the same, I'd guess it's probably my tattoos.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: To Kill a Mockingbird; Pride & Prejudice; American Gods by Neil Gaiman; anything by Tom Robbins or Kurt Vonnegut; Heavier Than Heaven, a biography of Kurt Cobain; The Clash, Return of the Last Gang in Town (comprehensive biography); Skipping Towards Gomorrah by Dan Savage. etc. Oh, and comic books, particularly Uncanny X-Men and X-spinoff titles (Wolverine, the New Mutants, X-Force, X-Factor, Generation X, and like 2,164 more...). Also, the Scott Pilgrim graphic novels.

Movies: The Goonies, Back to the Future trilogy, Ghost Busters, Revenge of the Nerds, Boondock Saints, X-Men, X2, Ghost World, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, The Avengers (Really, anything put out by Marvel Studios), Kevin Smith flicks, anything written or directed by Tarrantino, a bunch of those John Hughes flicks, etc. I love well done documentaries. Despite the fact that I'm not a pothead I do really seem to like stoner comedies(Idle Hands, Harold and Kumar verb proper noun, Grandma's Boy, etc.)

Shows: Daria,Community, Futurama, Freaks & Geeks, My So Called Life, Clone High, Portlandia, Firefly (Really, anything Joss Whedon), SNL (70's, early 90s, Tina Fey)...other things.

Music: The Clash, Social Distortion, Gaslight Anthem, Lucero, Against Me!, The Creepshow, Jawbreaker, Operation Ivy, Kitty in a Casket, Rancid, NOFX, Tilt, Pennywise, Bad Religion, Bikini Kill, Le Tigre, Metric, Fifteen, Jets to Brazil, Buzzcocks, AFI, Horrorpops, Tsunami Bomb, The Cars, Descendents, NIRVANA, the Pixies, Smashing Pumpkins, Dillinger Four, the Soviettes, L7, Sleater-Kinney, Motley Crue, Guns N' Roses, Vixen, the Cure, the Dandy Warhols, the Replacements, X, Dead Kennedys, The Faint, Cursive, Blondie, the Sounds, the Weakerthans, Alkaline Trio, the Ramones, Sex Pistols, Public Enemy, NWA, Jurassic 5, Gym Class Heroes, Paramore, Waylon Jennings, Patsy Cline, Mazzy Star, Lindi Ortega, Whiskey & Co., Garbage, Depeche Mode, Neko Case, Ben Folds, Mary Lou Lord, Rilo Kiley, Veruca Salt, Sarah Blackwood...and I really could just keep going...I have over 17,000 songs on my ipod...Oh, and I also listen to Avril Lavigne and Taylor Swift.

Food: As long as the food is good, I'm cool...I'm not very picky. That being said: Love enchiladas and chimichangas and tacos. Cheese is good on almost everything. So is bacon. I love breakfast food but I rarely eat it at breakfast time...thus the appeal of brunch and 24 hour diners. I really like steak. Potatoes are amazing because there are like 143.373 ways you can prepare them and most are good.
The six things I could never do without
Assuming basic needs are already met...

1-Cigarettes...I am addicted, it's true (Update: Trying to quit)
2-My Music Collection and a means to play those albums
3-An unlimited supply of ink and paper
4-New books to read
5-Acceptable companionship
6-Can the sixth option be rotating depending on what my mood for the day is? Because sometimes I feel like I can't live without whiskey and the next day it's a taco.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
A plethora of things. A lot about life and people and how we all interact with each other.

Having superpowers.

What I would do if I got to write an X-Men title.

Various other stories I'm working on and stories that never get developed.

Why is it that every pizza and Chinese restaurant delivers food, but no Mexican restaurants do?

Why am I such a sucker for a girl in glasses?
On a typical Friday night I am
wherever I want to be...sometimes at a show, sometimes in my room, sometimes at a Brewers game (going to miss MLB, but I guess I can get into going to Omaha Royals, I mean Storm Chasers, games), sometimes drinking with my crew, sometimes tending bar. My point being is that there is no such thing as typical.

Since moving to Omaha?? Usually nothing. One Friday I went to RAW Art's event at Sokol and that was really cool.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm not one-dimensional and have no desire to be. I care not what is cool, opting instead to like whatever strikes my fancy and not care what others think about it. I will not be confined by a restrictive, encompassing label. Proud to be multifaceted.

I'm not much of one to volunteer information. If asked, though, I will provide an answer.
You should message me if
You're so inclined. Or bored. Or once got a participation ribbon at a grade school track meet. Or if you also believe that the Duck-Billed Platypus is the most amazing creature on this planet. Seriously, do some research on it...the DBP is a marvel!

Or if you just want to talk to a guy who's classy enough to not send dick pics and actually likes knowing women as people.
