Psychologists know that people, for the most part, are attracted to people with their same general socio-economic background, same general level of intelligence, same general level of looks, same basic religious and social values, ethnicity, etc. (similar cultural characteristics). However, when you enter a room where everybody shares similar cultural characteristics to you, why don’t you fall in love with all of them? or if you do decided on one, why that one?
People often talk of chemistry; people often say, “We had no chemistry” or “We had chemistry”. Dr. Helen Fisher, the author of this inventory, wondered if there was something to the talk of chemistry. Dr. Fisher explored basic biological systems to create this inventory, to see to what degree people express those basic biological systems. Dr. Fisher wanted to see if people were naturally drawn to people of certain chemical styles.
