The Which Heroic Autobot are You? Test

  1. "Circling the star Alpha Centauri, ages ago, was a planet unlike any other in the heavens-- Cybertron

"No rock or soil or sand contributed to its bizarre geography. It's content was entirely--mechanical. Cybertron existed, from metallic surface to core, as a vast Saturn-sized machine world... A world whose origins were lost in the dead past."

With those words dawned the beginning of the Transformers saga, a four-issue Marvel comic that was soon greenlighted for an ongoing series. Completing 80 issues total before it's initial ending, Transformers - along with the toys and cartoons that also made the franchise popular - became a part of so many of those who grew up in the 1980's.

Some identified with the Heroic Autobots. Some idolized the Evil Decepticons. This test is designed for those for whom "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings."

  2. The design of this test will classify your attitudes, mentality and knowledge in order to find your primary Autobot character. This is different from your favorite character; if your favorite was Mirage, for example (whoever really liked that little whiner anyway?), you're out of luck. Here we're looking at 8 of the most popular, most significant, and most recognizable characters in Transdom.

Note: This is a test based almost entirely on the longest-running, most-successful of the Transformers lines, the Marvel comic, which debuted in September of 1984. It may include a little perspective from the later Dreamwave G1 comics. If you think the cartoon (or worse yet, the movie by itself!) is the end-all and be-all of Transformers, you have lived a sheltered life. Yes, they were good, but the heart of the story is in the Marvel graphic novels.

    Enjoy. Autobots, let's roll out!

  3. WARNING and NOTE:

This test was originally written for the sole purpose of the test, but then the Test Contest came out with the Television subject. I submitted it but never heard back, even after a couple follow-up emails. That was months ago.

Now, I am finally bringing it online. It is most likely not perfect. There probably is not an ideal distribution of scoring. I probably will tweak this significantly in the future, and if I make a major overhaul of it, I will erase all scores (but only for a really, really major change).

You see, I'm out of time. In mid-January, I will be embarking on a little trip, and I don't know exactly how long it will take. It may only be a few weeks, it may be longer. I have absolutely no idea what sort of internet access I will have during this time either. Thus, instead I will be bringing it online now.

Enjoy this test, fellow Heroes. It'll be Auto-riffic!
