Though you may not be aware of it, political theorists, more commonly referred to as political philosophers are responsible for a huge part of how we view politics today. If you're a liberal or progressive, then whether you know it or not your views are probably informed by John Locke and John Stuart Mill. If you are a conservative your beliefs probably owe a lot to Thomas Hobbes and Edmund Burke. And if you're a die-hard radical leftist where would you be without Marx, Engels, dialectics, and class struggle?
This test covers the classical to early post-modern eras. It does not include notable political theorists of the post-war era such as Strauss, Arendt, Chomsky et al.
So, if you could only choice one based on your personal political ideology, which political philosopher would you be?
