Humanity has a fascination for horror and monsters. The monster serves as a metaphor for what we fear, hate, or simply recognize within ourselves and others.
As there are thousands of monster myths throughout the world, this test divides monsters into broad categories; no mention is made of distinctions between werewolves, werepanthers, werehyenas or what-not, as they are merely regional variations on the same basic concept, and similarly servants of the opposite of the Creator (in whatever society) are all Demons for this test's purposes, aberrations of science gone mad are treated as one category, and so forth.
