The Thought-Provoking Ethics Test

  1. Hi! And welcome to my Thought-Provoking Ethics Test. Immanuel Kant wrote, "So act as to treat humanity, whether in your own person or in another, always as an end, and never as only a means." Some philosophers challenge this, the deontological approach to ethics. This test is designed to see whether, how often and to what extent you practice deontological (duty-driven) ethics as opposed to teleological (end-driven) ethics. I do not claim that there are correct or incorrect answers to this test. I simply intend to make everyone, including myself, pause and reflect on the most basic and the most difficult type of ethical dilemma.
