The Not So Easy European Languages Test

  1. Hi! And welcome to my test. Let's see what you know about languages spoken in Europe these days. We will be dealing with official, national and minority languages. You will notice that I use the terms "national" and "official" languages and you may think this is tricky but it's not really. A national language may be official in parts of the country and not others while an official language is the only required by the state, or, the other way around. Let's take Canada as an example. Canada's official languages are French and English although French is mainly spoken in Quebec. However, official government documents, web pages, etc., must be in both languages. Obviously, this in not respected in all countries although they may have various official languages. So yes, it may tricky at times! Try it and find out....
