1. In a nearby parallel universe, Earth is just a flooded mudball where human beings never came to exist. There are no phones, no lights, no motorcars -- in fact, no advanced organisms whatsoever. Not even Chia Pets.

   But in that very same universe, Mars just happens to feature a thriving civilization of its own, with a unique history, culture and technology completely alien to ours. Including -- as it happens -- their own version of OKCupid.
