I guess mostly I'm trying to test for myself the relationships that exist among such things known commonly as instinct, impulse, emotion, reason, intuition... and also how they relate to action.
The opposite of reason here is emotion. They may be inexorably linked and cultivated together, but here I am separating the two and identifying emotion as an instinctual mode of thinking, uncorrupted by advanced learning. The opposite of action is inaction... not necessarily hermitude, but the passive refusal to take charge of a situation.
Let's assume the things I've said above are true... have fun.
PS. Suppression of both thought and emotion is considered reason at an advanced level, as opposed to the lack of either. I'm not sure how I feel about that, but I'm pretty sure I got the idea from Nietzsche.
