I use about as many neologisms and sound effects in my speech as extant words in popular use. As people get to know me, they get to understand my neologisms and communication is bettered for the better.
Perhaps words have a certain inherent identity... perhaps similar personalities can understand a previously unheard word, similar perhaps to how similar personalities would answer similarly to a similar ink blot in a Rorschah test. (I often see bugs.)
Essentially, the goal of this test is to test how similar you and I are by testing whether or not you can guess the meaning of some of my more common neologisms. Remember, Use your intuition as there are very few clues as to which is the right answer. Do not try to guess what I think, as, according to close friends, that is nearly impossible. In the end, this test only measures how similarly you and I would think. So a low score would only mean that we think differently, which may come as a relief to many of you, as well it should.
You do know what a neologism is, right?
Well...
www.dictionary.com (a delightful website) gives a number of definitions for neologism. Amongst them:
ne·ol·o·gism n.
1. A new word, expression, or usage.
2. The creation or use of new words or senses.
3. The invention of new words regarded as a symptom of certain psychotic disorders, such as schizophrenia.
4. A meaningless word used by a psychotic.
5. A word coined by a psychotic that is meaningless except to the coiner
Hmmm... well, I do not make coins, so I guess I am not psychotic.
Yay.
