The Find Your Italian Party Test

  1. Hi! And welcome to the Find Your Italian Political Party Test. I'll be using advanced logic and knowledge to determine your true nature. I've often been wondering how the Italian political parties compare to those of other countries, and if they compare. As I write this, the Italian general election 2006 will take place in 7 months, and I've found an opportunity to write a simple test to find out. I hope it works. The test consists of only 13 questions which have been much debated during the election campaign. And based on your answers to those questions I try to determine which Italian party or parties covers your views. Of course I know that our political views are usually more complex than that. So just remember that it's not a scientifically correct test.
  2. I have included ten of the eleven parties that will put forward candidates for the election in April 2006. They are listed below after size in the parliament, according to last general elections held in 2001. Forza Italia (FI) - Berlusconi's creature, part of the European Popular Party, they define themselves now as "populars", now as "libdems". Reality? Nobody knows what they really are. Neither they. Faithful to the Usa, close to the Vatican, when it's worth while... Democratici di Sinistra (SD)- The Social Democrates, former Communist Party (in 1991). Recent friends of the Usa, especially when leaded by the Democrats. Far from the Vatican, but not so much. Alleanza Nazionale (AN) - National Alliance, the former fascist party (in 1994), now more a liberaldemocratic party of the right. Recent friends with the Usa, especially when leaded by the Republicans. Close to Vatican. La Margherita (LM) - Liberaldemocrats of the Left, has an important amount of Christian Democrates inside. Good friends of the Usa, especially when leaded by the Democrats. Close to Vatican. Rifondazione Comunista (PRC) - The Communist Party. Look at Vatican with respect, but they believe in another religion. Anti-americanists. Unione democratici cristiani (Udc) - Christian Democrates. The closest to Vatican City, they usually like the Usa, except when they do scientific research or give gay rights. Lista Radical-socialista (RS, union of Sdi, Psi, Pr) - The Liberal Socialists. Far from Vatican very very close to the Usa. Lega Nord (LN) - The Secessionist Party of the North. They are unpredictable with Vatican and with the Usa. And everything else. Xenophobes. Lista Arcobaleno (LA, union of Verdi and Comunisti Italiani) - The Red/Green Alliance. They can't stand Vatican and the Usa. Alternativa Sociale (AS) - The Neo Fascist Party. Critics with the Usa (they conquered us in the 2WW!) and very close to the Vatican. Xenophobes. *Traditionally* the parties are placed on a scale from left to right as follows: Far left: Rifondazione comunista, Lista Arcobaleno Centerleft: Democratici di sinistra, La Margherita Center: Lista Radical-socialista, Unione democratici cristiani Centeright: Forza Italia, Alleanza Nazionale Far Right: Lega Nord, Alternativa Sociale Good Luck :-)
