The Fantasy Dungeon Adventure Test

2. This test is a puzzle and a fantasy adventure into a dark dungeon. Like all dungeons, it doesn't contain prisoners wallowing in their own filth, but rather nasty monsters hoarding fabulous lucre. And, dammit, you want that lucre! But it will take a combination of strength, dexterity, and magic to successfully penetrate and emerge from the dungeon with as much money as you can find. But be careful, stealing from these creatures can be very dangerous. You may find yourself rich, but also quite dead if you're too greedy. In this case discretion really is the better part of valor, you know.

   I'll also provide you with some information about your simple RPG stats as you develop your character and point out with bold text the parts crucial for you determining which stats to use.

   First, as in all good fantasy dungeon crawl adventures, you need to select your race and class. What race were you born?

   [+3 Might] One of the stalwart dwarves, famed for their strength.

   [+3 Dexterity] One of the adorable halflings, famed for their quick fingers and light feet.

   [+3 Magic] One of the mysterious elves, famed for their innate magical powers.

   [+1 Might, Dex, Magic] One of the boring humans, who are fairly good at everything and can even accidentally toss off the odd spell on rare occasions.

   Now that you have decided what you were born, what class shall your character be?

   [+3 Might] I'm a hearty warrior, and I love to bash things.

   [+3 Dexterity] I'm a wily thief, and I love to steal anything (and not just the stuff in barrels like everyone else takes).

   [+3 Magic] I'm a brilliant wizard, capable of throwing fire from one hand and water from the other at the same time.

   [+1 Might, Dex, Magic] I'm a clever bard, which makes me jack-of-all-trades.

   Your character also has a colorful history. For instance, which of the following happened when you were a child?

   [+1 Might, Dex, Magic] I was raised among royalty, and educated a bit about each of the useful arts of swordplay, grace, and mystical arcana.

   [+1 Might, +2 Dex] My half-orc stepfather used to lob firewood at me saying it would "toughen me up" when I got older. I caught it sometimes, but mostly I just tried to dodge it all.

   [+1 Dex, +2 Magic] I was sold to an evil wizard who made me dust his mile-high library. I learned a lot about balance as well as various spells while sneaking peeks at the books while the wizard was in one of his opium stupors.

   [+1 Magic, +2 Might] My fairy godfather took me along on some hits on rival pixie families, where I learned the value of the odd offensive spell and a healthy dose of physical violence.

   When you grew up a little, you realized that you had the potential for great things. When was this exactly?

   [+1 Dex, +2 Might] After I sneaked into the cave of a nearby basilisk and then beat him senseless for eating our local virgins.

   [+1 Magic, +2 Dex] After I lived for years as a pickpocket until I finally pilfered a magic book that spoke to me, promising me a great destiny.

   [+1 Might, +2 Magic] After I went into the desert to live as a hermit, testing my body's endurance and gaining insight into powerful magics.

   [+1 Might, Dex, Magic] After a withered old wanderer walked up to me and told me I would "save the world" and gave me three gifts to help me: a sword, a cloak, and a magic wand.
