You see, all your envelope-pushing when it came to science really was out of the reach of your crew and you went too far, rupturing the universe and ending up trapped between space and time. Since then your ship has been floating through a multi-colored pastiche of utter horror and no one has aged a day. You don't eat, sleep, use the bathroom, seduce the young ensigns, or perform complex math anymore. You and your crew are deathless zombies, unable to even commit suicide to end it all. On the bright side, everyone still likes checkers for some reason. They can't get enough of it! Yes, the 31,301st bi-weekly Checkers Tournament can't come quickly enough...
