Carolina Herrera's trademark design is for the woman who wants to feel glamorous.
She was born in Venezuela in 1939. She did not enter the work force until she was 41 years of age, after her children were older. She debuted with a test collection in 1980 and after it's success she moved her family to New York. Her current husband is an editor of Vanity Fair magazine.
Throughout the 70's and 80's she was continually thought of as one of the best dressed women of the world. One of her clients was Jackie Onassis.
Carolina also a Goodwill Ambassador for IIMSAM, which fights malnutrition and promotes the use of spirulina.
Carolina states: "If my work at the IIMSAM were to save the life of even one child from the forty thousand children that die of malnutrition and related diseases each day, I would consider it the greatest work of my life."
