Marc Jacob's signature design is the layered nostalgic looks with wit.
Marc is a native New Yorker born in 1963. He studied fashion in high school and at the Parson's School of design. While attending Parson's he sold his first designs - hand knited sweaters.
Besides for being the head designer for his own company he serves as the creative director for Louis Vuitton. He had previously worked for Perry Ellis, but was fired after launching his "grunge look" design. (The grunge look consisted of flannel shirts over cashmere thermals.)
His clients include the lies of Winona Rider, Sophia Coppala, and Christina Ricci.
Marc Jacobs was quoted: "I love to take things that are everyday and comforting and make them into the most luxurious things in the world."
