I created Sitakaliism when I was 14, and it brought me out of the most severe depression I have ever experienced. Finding meaning and getting to know yourself really helps with depression. I think that is why some people are "saved". You could say I was "saved", but I had to choose to be. The main goddesses I chose--Sita, based on a character I found in a book, and Kali, the Hindu goddess--are used as symbols for my spirituality. I don't really believe that there are goddesses out there, literally. But maybe...you never know.
